Coachella quickly turned into #Arichella on Friday (April 20) when rumors began swirling that Ariana Grande would be making a surprise appearance at the festival. The rumors were true, and Arianators quickly lost their minds on social media.
Less than 24 hours after the release of her much-anticipated new single, the pop superstar hit the Coachella stage — with lavender-colored hair and a matching ruffle skirt — to perform “No Tears Left To Cry” during Norweigan DJ Kygo’s evening set.
“Yasssss @arianagrande just gave me my entire life just now at #Coachella#NoTearsLeftToCry #ArianaGrande bitch I hope this go through because I don’t have any service out here!” one overjoyed fan wrote on Twitter.
Earlier in the day, Grande’s manager, Scooter Braun teased on social media that the 24-year-old singer would be performing at Coachella. Soon after, fans started sharing photos of Grande and her boyfriend Mac Miller in a helicopter, likely en route.
Later, another fan shared their love of Grande’s latest hair color. “Ariana with lilac hair and wearing a purple outfit #ARICHELLA,” the fan tweeted.
Grande’s brother, Frankie James Grande, also congratulated his sister on the live debut of “No Tears Left to Cry.” “Congratulations to my beautiful sister on a gorgeous first performance of #notearslefttocry! I’m soooooooooo proud of you… and I need that hair. #ARiCHELLA,” he tweeted.
In addition to her new single, Grande performed a cover of Marvin Gaye’s 1982 classic “Sexual Healing.”
